In the Harper’s Bazaar interview the actress talk about why she prefers fillers over plastic surgery to keep herself looking youthful. Stone has been using fillers for years to keep wrinkles at bay.
Stone, who is a spokesperson for the filler Restylane, also uses them in part after a 2001 stroke left her face damaged.

Stone, speaking about fillers,  told Harper’s Bazaar:
‘It’s so common now for people to use fillers, it’s almost like a beauty treatment.
‘It’s like you have mascara and a filler. And it’s a far better alternative than having your face cut apart and ending up looking like you got sucked into a wind tunnel.’

This isn’t the first time the actress has bared al for the camera. Stone posed nude for Playboy in 1990 in a bid to prove to the entertainment industry that she could be sexy. It must’ve paid off because two years later she was cast opposite Michael Douglas in Basic Instinct. Giving us one of the most paused scenes in movie history.

Speaking about the Playboy shoot, Stone said it was a calculated attempt to cement her image as a sex siren.
‘Everybody said I wasn’t sexy and I couldn’t get jobs because of it,’ she explained.

In the Harper’s Bazaar interview, the actress also spoke about her battle to get back on top after suffering a brain hemorrhage. Stone said how she felt unwell for three days, before being admitted to the emergency room back in 2001.
She lost consciousness soon after she was admitted and recalls the frightening conversations she had with the doctor when she came to.
‘When I came to, the doctor was leaning over me. I said, “Am I dying?” And he said, “You’re bleeding into your brain”.
‘I said, “I should call my mom,” and he said, “You’re right. You could lose the ability to speak soon.”‘
The doctors diagnosed a ruptured vertebral artery, which was repaired with 22 platinum coils.
‘It took two years for my body just to absorb all the internal bleeding I had.
‘It almost feels like my entire DNA changed. My brain isn’t sitting where it used to, my body type changed, and even my food allergies are different.’

Following a long recovery for Stone she now has full feeling in her leg again.  Although her vision was also affected and didn’t return to normal for years she now has perfect vision. Stone also had to have therapy to correct her speech, after the stroke left her with a stutter.
But she says the health scare also made her ‘more emotionally intelligent’.
‘I chose to work very hard to open up other parts of my mind,’ she said.
‘Now I’m stronger. And I can be abrasively direct. That scares people, but I think that’s not my problem,’ she told the publication with a laugh.
