Keeping Fit on Holidays

 

Do you struggle to fit in exercise while on holiday? I know I do. I managed to fit in a walk today but it is not the same as being at home. I find that at home I can go for longer and do a better workout. Maybe it is just due to not knowing the area where we are and wanting to make sure I got back to be with the twins.

Hubby gave me a FitBit (well I think it was as I forgot to take it with me. I am sure it is.) This device is great from what I read on the pack, it will record my steps, calories and the like to help with my fitness. I really wish I took it with me so I could have tried it out. Next week when I am home cannot wait to give it a go.

It is very hard to get back into fitness after eating and drinking over the Christmas and New Year period. Maybe it is just me but I do find it nice to sleep in a bit on holiday so sleeping in I miss the early window for exercise. I did like to enjoy a nice walk in the early morning before breakfast, but I have been slack on this sitation and make sure to do it more often, especially when I have people around to help with the kids.

So in 2013 I am going to be establishing a new routine or at least will try to, I want to fit in more exercise while hubby or others are around. If the weather is good, I will put the kids in the pram and go for a walk. Due to it being summer I need to get the walk done early or in late afternoon as it is too hot in the middle of the day.

What do you do to ensure you still exercise on holidays or after having a big couple of days? Send in your tips and tricks so that we can all get fit and toned.
