A Man Said His Wife Should Pay for Formula Because She Gave up Breastfeeding and ?‍♀️

In one of his less enlightened moments, a man has taken to the internet to ask if his wife should pay for baby formula out of her own pocket instead of the household grocery budget since she had decided to give up breastfeeding.

I shit you not. Behold:

If I had pearls on I would be clutching them right now.

I mean, the logic is solid, I suppose. Mother provides breastmilk for free, mother chooses to no longer provide breastmilk for free so must therefore be responsible for alternate baby food so the financial responsibility for said baby food remains in the hands of the mother.

Except it doesn’t work like that. Not even a little bit.

The man posted his question to the ever-popular subreddit Am I the Asshole, and deleted his entire account within the hour, having been schooled appropriately by people who understand how families and relationships work.

A screenie of the post appeared on Twitter shortly afterwards, where there was a lot to unpack.

While that is a wonderful idea in and of itself, the good people of Twitter had their own ideas too.

Throwing a mantrum because it has dawned on you that you might have to pay to feed your child is pretty bad, let’s be honest here. It was going to happen sooner or later and as the baby is now six months old, solids would be starting to be introduced — would that food also come out of his wife’s personal spending account too?

Absolutely ridiculous.

Alas, all that is left of the delusional husband’s query is the screenie, as his post was nuked after his account was.

We would like to offer his wife our sincerest condolences, as there must not have been any signs he was this much of a f-cking berk before they were married. We’re on your side, lady. Godspeed.
