Mother of one and singer Adele launched a thinly-disguised attack on chef Jamie Oliver who recently claimed that mother’s in the UK need to get back to breastfeeding as the country has one of the lowest breast feeding rates in the world.
During a live question and answer session at her concert on Tuesday night in London, Adele made her views on the pressure new mums feel to breastfeed crystal clear.
“You know what, the pressure on us is f**king ridiculous,” she began. “No worse people who put pressure on. You can go f**k yourselves, alright? Because it’s hard. Some of us can’t do it!”
Adele went on to get personal about her own struggles breastfeeding her son, Angelo.
“All I wanted to do was breastfeed my kid and then I felt like, if I was in the jungle right now, back in the day, my kid would be dead because the milk’s gone,” she continued. “It’s not funny!”
