During her time on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, Jo Beth Taylor had some honest words to say about her former co-host Daryl Somers.
Taylor was speaking honestly about her time as co-host on Hey Hey it’s Saturday between the years of 1995-1997. She labelled her former boss as “egocentric” and spoke of his inconsistent nature.
“Daryl is very supportive if he likes you. The flip side is he is very egocentric,” she told Paul Harrigan during a conversation on I’m A Celebrity.
“He treated me really well … it was him first always. I could never be better and if I was, I always got short-shifted out.”
Although Somers said in late March that he had cleared the air with Taylor and remained open to working with her again should the variety show be revived it seems he may still have a bone to pick with her.
`I know how these things happen and don’t even think about it. I hope we can work together again in the future and I’d love to work with her again and I enjoyed her time on Hey Hey, so that’s all fine,” Somers said.
A telling sign that all may not be well between the two is the fact that Taylor is not listed on the “cast” page of Hey Hey It’s Saturday’s official website www.heyhey.tv.
A spokesperson for Somers has said that there is nothing malicious about the omission- and in fact others were left off also.
“Daryl wants to assure you that there is absolutely no weight behind the idea that anyone has been intentionally snubbed or removed from the Hey Hey website,” the Nine spokesman said.
“Jo Beth was never on the cast page and has certainly not been removed.
Only the longest running cast members are on there. You’ll notice Denise Drysdale isn’t there. Nor is Raymond J Bartholomeuz, Shane Bourne, Marty Fields, Trevor Marmalade, Rhonda Burchmore, Melissa Hannon and numerous other regulars over the many years of the show.”
Hmmm…it seems to us that someone still has their nose out of joint. My bets are that we won’t be seeing Somers and Taylor on our screens together anytime soon.
