Jo Beth Taylor announced her engagement to Matt Bennell and has revealed all the details in this week’s issue of New Idea.
The 44 year old said the proposal happened while the couple were holidaying in Noosa. Bennell dropped to one knee during a gondola ride along the Noosa River.
“We’ve had this private joke in our relationship where, if we found ourselves in a beautiful place or enjoying a moment, we’d wish we had a ring,” Jo Beth said.
This time, there was a ring. Not just any ring but a stunning purple tanzanite diamond one.
“I’d told Matt about my love of tanzanite, which is an African stone. So to have him find this piece and have it made into a ring, it was really thoughtful of him,” she said.
The pair met when their children both joined the same indoor soccer team. While they were both cheering from the sidelines their eight year platonic friendship turned into a romance.
“Starting off our relationship as very good friends has really cemented our strong partnership,” Jo Beth told New Idea.
This will be Jo Beth’s third marriage, her first was to guitarist Jamie Jardine in 1992 then tennis player Thomas Muster in 2000.
