Kim Kardashian’s First Photo Shoot Since Having Son Saint

Kim Kardashian West has done her first photo shoot since having son Saint in December. The spread will appear as an exclusive feature for Vogue Australia.

Every time Kim does a shoot for Vogue Australia the results are always stunning. Gone are the big lashes and fake tans. We get to see the more natural side to Kim, which I have say is so much more beautiful. The shoot encompasses that natural-fresh vibe that is such a huge part of our Aussie aesthetic.

With fashion director Christine Centenara in charge, you just know it’s going to be an amazingly styled shoot. (Centenara herself is one of the world’s most stylish women with a wardrobe to die for!)

Christine Centenera

Centenera commissioned 10 corsets to be made specifically for Kim, which meant she had to go on a fairly strict after having Saint. Editor-in-chief Edwina McCann said the theme of the shoot was “disruption”.
“For this cover we wanted to reinvent Kim, which is a difficult thing to do when you are working with one of the most photographed women in the world — add her selfies and she must be number one,” McCann said. “I love Christine Centenera’s fresh interpretation of Kim’s image, accentuating her curves with corsetry worn over cool T-shirts; her bare face displays her true beauty.”

Aside from the beautiful images, we get an insight into Kim and what makes her tick. Kim opens up on a whole range of subjects from her heroes to her favourite foods. Read an excerpt from the interview below:

Vogue: Your main fault?
KKW: “There are so many, hard to think … gosh, I mean, maybe I’m a bit stubborn.”
Vogue: Your idea of misery?
KKW: “Misery is so subjective, this is a hard one … for me, though, it is when I don’t have any sleep, I feel miserable.”vogue3Vogue: If not yourself, who would you be?
KKW: “I would love to be a forensic investigator and live a normal life.”
Vogue: Your heroes in real life?
KKW: “My dad was, for sure. I love that he was always so honest about family. You know, that’s something I really looked up to.”
Vogue: Your favourite heroines in real life?
KKW: “Obviously, my mum. Once you become a mother, you have a new-found respect for people who have gone through it — especially knowing my mum has had six [children]; that’s so intense for me. I want to live her life and be successful, work hard and still have so many kids — and still take care of everyone else.”

Vogue: Your favourite food and drink?
KKW: “I feel like I’ve been so good dieting that nothing excites me the way it did, except for beignets from New Orleans — and powdered sugar doughnuts, which I’m obsessed with. My favourite drink … there has gotta be something exciting that I love … I’m not that big on alcohol, but it’s fun and in Paris there is this restaurant called Ferdi and they have this strawberry fruity drink. I think if I could have anything and not worry about the calories, it would be a pina colada with fresh strawberries.”
Vogue: Your favourite qualities in a man?
KKW: “Hmm, there are so many … I really think having a sense of humour is important.”
Vogue: Your favourite qualities in a woman?
KKW: “Someone who is, just, who is … how do I explain it? You can tell when someone is kind, and not competing with you.”
Vogue: Your favourite names?
KKW: “North and Saint.”
Vogue: Is he a saint?
KKW: “He lives up to his name like you would not believe.”
Vogue: Is she true North?
KKW: “She totally is.”

Vogue Australia’s June issue is on sale Monday 16 May.
