Real Housewives of Melbourne star Lydia Schiavello, has had to speak out against rumours of an alleged affair between herself and Shane Warne. The married star said “it’s all crap” – referring to talk that her friendship with the ex-cricketer is more than just platonic.
The rumours have been circulating for a while now but newcomer to the Real Housewives of Melbourne show- Susie Mclean has set the rumour mill in motion once again.
She recently told an Australian magazine that all this talk of an alleged affair could possibly destroy her marriage.
“I have no idea what her (Susie’s) problem is,” Schiavello said.
“I am really shocked, really shocked. Hence why I don’t have much to say to her. She makes up rumours, they’re all crap.”
McLean first raised the possibility of Schiavello, who she has know for years, and Warne, who she also knows well, having an affair in episode one of RHOM. The subject was raised after Janet Roach mentioned Warne had texted her and asked her back to his place one night, which was interpreted as a “booty call”.
“I know them both. They’re involved (know each other) because of his foundation and Lydia is an active member of that foundation,” McLean said in episode one.
“The gossip around Melbourne is that there is something going on between them.
“It’s quite disturbing because Lydia I don’t think does anything in her powers to dissipate these rumours — at all.”
Schiavello has defended her friendship with Warne saying it’s nothing but professional.
“I haven’t done anything wrong,” she said.
“He has never called me for a booty call but he has called Janet.
“If he did that with me he would get a slap in the face.”
