Seth Meyers, the 42 year old Late Night host has shared an adorable photo of his newborn son Ashe. Meyers was a guest on the NBC’s Today show when he showed the pic of his wide eyed boy.
Meyers and his wife, 32-year-old lawyer Alexi Ashe, welcomed their little boy in March and although they are both beyond excited on being first time parents they admit to being overwhelmed and exhausted!
“I haven’t been great as far as being an assistant to my wife, in that the baby will wake up a couple times in the middle of the night and then I’ve been adding a third wake-up because I have night terrors about where the baby is,” he explained. “I’ve been waking up, grabbing my wife’s face and saying, ‘I don’t know where the baby is.’ Then I just go back to sleep.”
Despite his panic attacks, Meyers is loving being the doting dad.
“It’s fantastic,” he revealed. “Your life completely changes, but it changes so much less than the mother’s life changes. Mine’s pretty similar except there’s a baby at home in the morning and at night, but I still go to work.
That I enjoy more than I thought I would in that there’s a beginning, a middle and an end,” he joked. “When the baby is crying and you can’t communicate with it, then I’m frustrated. At least with the diaper, I know that it started dirty and now it’s clean.”
Meyers returned to host Late Night two days after his son was born and he was eager to share a private story about watching his wife in labor.
“The minute it started, I couldn’t take my eyes off it,” he revealed. “It was the most fantastic thing. I was so taken, it was the best.”
