Look out Melbourne, there’s a new housewife in town!
Foxtel has just announced that socialite Susie McLean will join the cast of The Real Housewives of Melbourne for season three. The “country girl turned Toorak Housewife” will join returning stars Chyka Keebaugh, Gamble Breaux, Gina Liano, Jackie Gillies, Janet Roach, Lydia Schiavello and Pettifleur Berenger.
“Susie exudes elegance and embodies the traditional values and good manners of her rural upbringing,” McLean’s bio reads.
“Having been a fixture of Melbourne society for decades, Susie has a wide circle of friends and is President of the County Women’s Association’s Toorak branch. Susie has a natural love of sport which keeps her in shape and is also a passionate cook and baker.”
McLean was married to former St Kilda Football Club president Roderick ‘Rod’ Butterss for six months, the pair tied the knot in February 2009 but separated in July 2009. Rod later spoke of his 10-year battle with alcoholism, telling the Sunday Herald Sun in 2014 “they were dark years”.
Another Melbourne socialite that was rumoured to join the cast was Grant Hackett’s ex-wife Candice Alley. However negotiations with Candice never eventuated.
Shooting for season three is already underway in Melbourne.
