Actress Anne Hathaway Shares First Photo Of Her Son Jonathan!
Anne Hathaway and husband Adam Shulman welcomed their first child together way back in April 2016 and they have just now shared the first snap of him on Instagram.
Gorgeous little Jonathan, or Johnny as his parents like to call him, can be seen in the photo watching his mum on the laptop give her speech at the UN on International Women’s Day.
“JRS watching Mummy give her speech at the UN yesterday #forourboys #forourgirls #forthefuture #loveislove #parentsareparents #paidparental #iwd #ppl @unwomen,” Hathaway captioned the photo.
The Oscar-winner gave her speech at the United Nations calling on companies and countries around the world to offer paid parental leave. Currently the United States offers 12 weeks of unpaid leave for mothers, which hit home for Hathaway when she gave birth last year. “Somehow we and every American parent were expected to be back to normal in under three months without income,” she said in her speech.
Hathaway emphasised that parental leave policies need to include men as well as women. “We need to redefine and destigmatize men’s roles as caregivers,” the actor said. “In other words in order to liberate women, we need to liberate men … Why do we continue to undervalue fathers and overburden mothers? In the modern world, some families have two daddies. How does maternity leave serve them?”
