Amy Schumer Shares Very Real Photo Of What IVF Is Doing To Her Body!

Amy Schumer Shares Very Real Photo Of What IVF Is Doing To Her Body!

It’s been eight months since comedian Amy Schumer gave birth to her first child Gene and now the mum of one is on a quest to give him a sibling.

This week, the 38 year old shared a particularly raw photo of her stomach showing her C-section scar and bruises from her IVF related injections. Amy is undergoing IVF in order to collect her eggs for freezing in hopes they will be successful in producing another child.

“I’m a week into IVF and feeling really run down and emotional. If anyone went through it and if you have any advice or wouldn’t mind sharing your experience with me please do. My number is in my bio. We are freezing my eggs and figuring out what to do to give Gene a sibling,” she captioned the pic.

Amy has made no secret of the fact that her pregnancy with Gene was particularly stressful. She suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition characterised by persistent nausea and vomiting, weight loss and dehydration, to a difficult delivery via C-section due to complications from endometriosis.

Yes, the journey to motherhood was difficult but the actress marked the end of 2019 with a picture of herself, her husband Chris and baby Gene, and wrote: “This has been by far the best year of my life and I spent half of it vomiting everyday.

So although she went through a lot to get Gene, she’s now preparing for this IVF journey no matter how hard it’s going to be. We don’t know if that journey will end in a pregnancy or surrogacy, but lets hope it ends in a sibling for Gene!

Fans were quick to offer advice and show support for Amy with comments like: “It’s emotional and your hormones are a mess. Rest and accept pampering and hugs.”

“You are already doing the most important thing,” wrote another. “Being open and vulnerable about a very difficult process.”
