Bethenny Frankel, star of The Real Housewives of New York City, has finalised her divorce with ex Jason Hoppy and can now leave that difficult period of her life behind.
In a statement put out my Jason’s attorney, Bernard Clair, he said the divorce had “finally been resolved” and that Jason is “thrilled that this chapter of his life is over.”
“He is extremely pleased with the settlement that was reached,” says Clair. “Jason looks forward to the future and enjoying that time privately with family, friends and most important to him, his daughter.”
Bethenny’s lawyer Allan Mayefsky released a statement on her behalf saying: “Out of respect for her privacy and the well-being of her daughter, Bethenny is declining to comment. We can confirm that the divorce has been resolved. Our client is ecstatic that this long chapter is over, and she is looking forward to moving on with her life.”
The couple were married in 2010 and welcomed daughter Bryn, now six, just weeks later. They filed for divorce in January 2013 and later reached a custody agreement, though the divorce has taken more than three years to finalise. Details of the settlement have not been revealed.
Bethenny has been open about her struggles throughout the difficult divorce proceedings that saw the process dragged out for nearly four years.
“I feel like I’m on the 18th hole of the golf round now. I feel like we’re here,” Bethenny said. “I feel like I survived something. When it all shakes down, I’ll be a woman who has not kind of just felt backed into a corner. I stayed strong and I did what was best for myself, my daughter, for women.”
