Biggest Loser Host Bob Harper Suffers Serious Heart Attack!
The Biggest Loser host Bob Harper reveals he is recovering from a serious heart attack that left him unconscious for two days.
Harper says he was working out in a gym in New York City this month when he collapsed. Luckily a doctor was also at the gym and performed CPR on him.
Harper shared an update of his condition on Instagram saying all is okay now. “I am feeling better. Just taking it easy,” the 51-year old celebrity trainer captioned the photo of himself in bed, wearing a hospital gown. “I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of messages and support. It feels good to be cared about. I’ve been home for 8 days now.”
Well I guess you all heard what happened. Two weeks ago yesterday I had a heart attack. I am feeling better. Just taking it easy. KARL has been a great nurse. I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of messages and support. It feels good to be cared about. I’ve been home for 8 days now. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I’m lucky to have such good friends and family to take care of me right now. ❤
The trainer has spoken in the past about his family’s history with heart problem. He says that while regular exercise can reduce your risk of heart problems and help you live longer, your family history also plays a key role in heart health. Your genes can elevate your risk for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Although the risk is low, exercise itself can also increase your risk of a heart attack. Most of that risk, though, is in the hours following a workout.
Harper has appeared on 17 seasons of the US show “The Biggest Loser” since 2004. He’s also written three best-selling books on how to eat well, exercise and stay healthy which comes from over 20 years of experience in helping people get fit and lose weight.
