Celebrity Fashion Fix #20 – 10 best dressed and 10 worst dressed of the Logies!
Week #20 of Celebrity Fashion, Celebrity Style and Celebrity Pics.
Best Dressed of the Logies 2012
10. Megan Gale
Megan’s Alex Perry gown bore a strong resemblance to the Valentino gown Julia Roberts donned for the Oscars in 2001, and was therefore destined to grace the Best Dressed lists after this year’s Logies. She certainly outshone fellow model/celebrity Jen Hawkins!
9. Ada Nicodemou
Home and Away actress and mum-to-be Ada Nicodemou walked the Logies red carpet tonight in a belly-friendly blue chiffon gown. Her deep V-necked frock was detailed with classic pleating around the bust and a petite but formal train.
8. Magdalena Roze
Channel 10 Breakfast weather presenter Magdalena Roze got it spot on in a breathtaking black sequined backless Ae’lkemi gown.
7. Delta Goodrem
Delta Goodrem hit the red carpet in true goddess style in a stunning Grecian inspired Ralph Lauren dress. Everyone is still talking about her latest project The Voice and the stars it is introducing to us all. Anyone out there still not seen Rachael Leahcar’s audition?
6. Lauren Phillips
Seasoned red carpet performer Lauren Phillips sported a sultry and sexy silver sequined gown by Jayson Brunsdon.
5. Asher Keddie
Offspring star Asher Keddie stayed loyal to Melbourne design duo J’Aton, wearing an intricately detailed cut-work lace and applique gown with bright yellow accents. Asher kept her accessories to a minimum.
4. Esther Anderson
Esther Anderson walked the red carpet in a stunning white Alex Perry gown. The former Home and Away actress was nominated for the Gold Logie and most popular actress.
3. Carrie Bickmore
Carrie Bickmore stepped onto the Logies red carpet in a red Bowie gown. The Project co-host was nominated for the coveted Gold Logie but lost out to the gorgeously hilarious Hamish Blake. I’m loving the gold belt and floaty skirt, just stunning.
2. Sonia Kruger
Manning Cartell is the local label responsible for Sonia Kruger’s gorgeous Logies gown, perfectly balancing modern elegance and red carpet glamour. The racer-neckline and streamlined skirt is figure-flattering in a slightly athletic way, whilst the on-trend peplum and moulded-metal belt ensures it’s still appropriate for TV’s night-of-nights.
1. Kate Ritchie
Kate Ritchie opted for a midnight blue gown by Steven Khalil for her entrance on the red carpet. The conservative hue was given a dose of serious glamour in all-over sequins. By far the most popular look of the night!
Worst Dressed of the Logies 2012
10. Rebecca Judd
Number One footballer’s WAG and David Jones racing ambassador normally does a LOT better than this on the red carpet. But at the Logies, she looked like she was wearing a shredded doona. I’m still not entirely sure why she was there…
9. Chrissie Swan
I love Chrissie Swan. She’s a gorgeous woman inside and out. But every woman over “that certain dress size” knows not to wear satin all over. Yes, it skims over the curves beautifully, but the lustre gives her a rounder look than she would have liked, I’m sure. Gorgeous, but no.
8. Lauryn Eagle
Celebrity Apprentice star Lauryn Eagle turned heads in her sheer J’Aton creation, which flashed more than a little flesh-toned underwear when photographed. The lace panel across the bust looks like an afterthought, and the fringed train was just all too much.
7. Susie Elelman
If there’s one thing Susie Elelman knows how to do, it’s to get the girls out and draw some attention.
Still, it’s better than she’s looked in recent years…
6. Giaan Rooney
I’m not sure when turning up looking like a bedspread started to become fashionable, but at least Giaan Rooney picked a lovely one. Her Helen Manuell couture gown looks like it’s ticking all the right boxes but on closer inspection it’s a bit of shocker, really.
5. Lisa Wilkinson
From her bright green awkwardly tiered gown to her ponytail and sweatmarks, the usually stunning Lisa Wilkinson could have used a little more polish. It’s an interesting look, but not for a red carpet.
4. Livinia Nixon
Livinia wore a maroon sateen corset with weird hanging down bits of material tied up with bunched shoulder rosettes. And then suddenly, a straight heavy-fabric black skirt. What? Black tie gone bad.
3. Natalie Gruzlewski
Fashionistas were loving this thing worn by the Farmer Wants A Wife presenter, but noooooooooo. All fussy and frilly with a weird V-shaped bodice. The little skirt thing is on-trend, but all in all this is not a good look.
2. Kat Stewart
Kat Stewart looks all kinds of wrong in this J’Aton gown. I mean, she looks fabulous for a new mum (baby Archie is 3 months old), but that doesn’t excuse weird hemlines and cone-shaped hair-dos. It’s an “eeeuuuuuggghhhhhhhhhh” from me.
1. Yumi Stynes
And the award for the most inappropriate gown for the evening goes to Yumi Stynes for her dreadfully unflattering mullet dress and bright orange tan. I don’t think I’ve seen someone fail this badly for quite some time.
And the best dressed Aussie bloke of the night? Jamie Durie of course!!
