Emma Freedman Is Back On Top At Rival Network Seven

Super cute Emma Freedman is having the last laugh as she heads towards the Grand Final of Dancing with the Stars.
The bubbly 26-year-old was unceremoniously dumped by Channel 9 last December but is now the favourite to win the Channel 7 dance show.
Freedman and dance partner Aric Yegudkin scored a near-perfect 59 out of 60 last Sunday to dominate Ash Pollard, Matthew Mitcham and Mat Rogers.

Freedman doesn’t rule out a career with Seven. She admits that she was devastated by Channel Nine’s decision to drop her as Weekend Today weather presenter last year.

Freedman was a favourite with the viewers with her bubbly personality and down to earth persona.
However Freedman says she wants to concentrate on the future rather than dwell on the past. That means practising hard for the five dances she needs to do for the two-part Grand Final.
“I came into Dancing with the Stars just wanting to have some fun,” Freedman says. “When everything happened at the end of last year I was pretty down for a couple of months.
“It (getting dumped by Nine) came out of nowhere. Even now I get asked by people ‘what was that all about — it doesn’t make sense?’
“I tell people what I know which is budget cuts and maybe a different direction for the show and they still shake their heads (in bewilderment).“I’ve moved on and I don’t dwell on that part of my life. I did lose confidence for a while but I’m pretty resilient.
“I know that if you’re a good person and a hard worker and you have a positive attitude, things will work out.”

Freedman recently revealed she has a new man in her life, finance worker Charlie Rundle, after breaking up with former boyfriend, Nine cameraman Tim Myers.

“I don’t know (what the future holds). These days I like to go with the flow. When I was younger I used to write goals and plans. If I’ve learned anything from the last 12 months is that it doesn’t work for me.“In an ideal world TV and radio are going to be a big part of my life for a long time. With this show I’ve learned that I’m a bit more of an entertainer than I thought I initially was.”

The Seven network would seem like a natural home for the Aussie star. Freedman would definitely light up the network’s Spring Racing Carnival telecasts, Sunrise, or any light entertainment program.

“I’ve learned (on Dancing with the Stars) that I can be a better actor than I thought I was,” Freedman says. “I realised that this show isn’t about who can point their foot the best, it is about telling a story via a performance.”

Freedman is the daughter of leading racehorse trainer Lee Freedman. He definitely let his feelings be known when his daughter was dumped by Channel 9. Lee Freedman launched a stinging attack on Nine on Twitter days after Emma was let go.
“Congratulations to CH 9 for firing Emma Freedman in a cost cutting measure. Wonder what they’ll do to the ones with no talent?” Freedman tweeted. Well said dad!
