Aussie actor and father of two Vince Colosimo is due to face court next month for drug possession.
The 50 year old was reportedly found with a small amount of methamphetamine last year in September in Melbourne’s northern suburbs by police. He is due to appear in the city’s Magistrates’ Court and will be represented by lawyers from Tony Hargreaves and Partners.
Colosimo has had a tough few years since becoming a household name playing gangland figure Alphone Gangitano in 2008’s Underbelly. He also appeared in the hit movie Chopper as well as Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby.
It seems though that this hasn’t been enough to keep the actor afloat as he has struggled financially for some time. A law firm began bankruptcy proceedings against him for a $36,000 debt in 2013, but the matter was dropped.
Colosimo’s lawyer Patrick Dwyer told the court his client needed to work very hard to stay afloat.
“Acting life is not highly remunerative,” he said. “He sands, he paints, he cleans building sites in between acting roles.”
The Underbelly star also battled former partner Jane Hall (above) in the Supreme Court following the breakdown of their 11-year relationship ended where he asked for a 90 per cent share of their $890,000 home in Northcote.
Colosimo has a 14 year old daughter, Lucia, with his former wife, actress Jane Hall. His current partner is Australian actress Diana Glenn (above) with whom he shares a 2 year old son, Massimo.
