Actress Tammin Sursok took her adorable two year old daughter Phoenix for a girl’s day in LA recently where they both attended the summer collection launch of children’s fashion brand Janie and Jack.
The 32 year old former Home and Away actress looked radiant in her brightly printed dress while Phoenix looked to be enjoying some mummy daughter time too.
Phoenix Emmanuel Sursok-McEwen is the first child for Tammin and her husband Sean McEwen. When she was born too years ago Tammin shared the good news with the following caption: “Everyone is happy and healthy. A gift from God today. Pure love.”
The birth of Phoenix turned out to be a very scary experience for Tammin with the need of an emergency caesarean needed to save the baby’s life.
‘Right at the last minute she [the baby] turned the wrong way and the cord wrapped around her neck,’ the Pretty Little Liars star has said.
‘The doctor said “There’s no way we’re taking any chances,”‘ she said of the last minute decision.
‘It was really dangerous. The doctor said if we lived in a third world country or a different time it could have been very dangerous for me and my child. We were very lucky’.
Following the traumatic birth of Phoenix, Tammin revealed she suffered from post-natal depression that left her lost and shattered. She said:
‘I think after I had my child, I went through a period where I felt quite isolated and I felt quite lost’.
Tammin credits her blog, Bottle And Heels, as being one of the main ways she was able to overcome her isolation. Through speaking to other mums she was able to find the supportive network she needed to realise she wasn’t alone in this journey called motherhood. ‘It took me a year and a half to find a tribe and a network of women where we could support and uplift each other rather than pit each other against one another,” she admitted.
