George Michael’s Cause Of Death Has Been Revealed!
The cause of George Michael’s untimely death last year has now been revealed. A coroner stated the star, who was found dead at his home in Oxfordshire on Christmas Day, died from natural causes. Michael, 53 suffered from a heart condition known as dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and also had a fatty liver.
“Inquiries into the death of George Michael have been concluded and the final post mortem report received,” the coroner said. “As there is a confirmed natural cause of death, being dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver, the investigation is being discontinued and there is no need for an inquest or any further inquiries. No further updates will be provided and the family requests the media and public respect their privacy.”
Dilated cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle where it becomes stretched and thin. This means that it is unable to pump blood around the body efficiently. While the condition can be inherited, other causes can include uncontrolled high blood pressure and excessive amounts of alcohol. Mycocarditis means inflammation of the heart muscle while fatty liver disease is usually seen in people who are overweight or have a damaged liver from alcohol abuse.
At the time of Michael’s death, the singer’s partner Fadi Fawaz was questioned extensively as he was the one who found him dead in bed alone at his home in Goring-on-Thames.
Tweets posted to Fawaz’s account at the time claimed the singer attempted suicide on multiple occasions and wanted to die. Fawaz says his account had been hacked, but a family member of Michael’s doesn’t buy it.
“One thing is for sure this was not an act of suicide,” Michael’s cousin Andros Georgiou said. “If I was around this would never have happened and I have to live with that the rest of my life…I have to pray that the police come to the conclusion I have and justice will be served.”
Now that the cause of Michael’s death has been confirmed, Fawaz has a message for those who doubted his initial report.
Following the statement from the coroner on Tuesday Fawaz took to Twitter with a candid response. “F–K YOU,” Michael’s boyfriend wrote, later adding, “The Truth is out…” alongside a black and white photo of the pair.

Fawaz continued, “All the nasty comments, press and 999 were very cruel and unnecessary whatsoever, Now I hope to receive some real LOVE x”
I wish I could tell you how cruel the world is without you, but I would upset you so much. I will never stop missing you x pic.twitter.com/Ja3CPdFxTa
