Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have finally reached a divorce settlement two years after separating, or consciously uncoupling, to use their words.
After 12 years of marriage the 43 year old actress and the Coldplay frontman, 39 pulled the plug on their marriage in 2014 but were yet to have worked out the logistics of the settlement. Until now.
Legal documents state that both parties have forfeited their rights to spousal support. The former couple, who have two children- Apple, 12, and Moses, 10, have also entered into a written agreement regarding their property and child support. The last step in making their split official will be the court’s final judgment.
The celebrity couple have had one of the most civilised and amicable break ups in Hollywood. The two often reunite to spend time with their children and have never spoken ill of each other.
“It’s like we are still a family, but not a couple,” Paltrow has said. “I think we are better as friends than we were married. We are very close and supportive of one another.”
It’s important for them to keep their children as happy as possible and they often do things as a family. Recently Paltrow took Moses to a Coldplay concert in Lima, Peru so her rockstar ex could wish their son a happy birthday in front of thousands of fans.
Since the break up the Martin has dated Jennifer Lawrence on and off and was then linked to actress Annabelle Wallis last August. Paltrow has been dating American Horror Story producer Brad Falchuk since August 2014.
