Janet Jackson Opens Up About Split From Husband In New Video!
Janet Jackson has discussed her marriage break up for the first time in an intimate new video on Youtube where she says, “I just want to keep it real with you guys!”
The 50 year old recording star separated from her husband of five years Wissam Al Mana just last month and decided to tell her fans directly in the new video.
Reclining comfortably on her bed, Jackson jokes that fans may not recognise her as she’s put on a few kilos since the birth of her first son Eissa in January.
“Hey you guys, it’s me Jan just in case you don’t recognise me because I have put on quite a few since I had my baby, but I thank God for him you guys,” Jackson announces.”He’s so healthy. He’s so beautiful, so loving, such a happy baby.”
Jackson and Al Mana, 42, were married in 2012, and managed to keep their relationship out of the spotlight during their time together. The Qatari businessman manages 55 companies including a Middle Eastern empire that spans fashion, media, engineering and real estate.
A friend of the couple’s says the cultural differences between the two were just too great and become more evident once their son was born. “They separated shortly after the baby was born. The cultural differences between her and Wissam became even more obvious after Eissa arrived. They come from very different worlds.”
The source continued- “They’re both busy people but determined to be good parents, even if they’re apart. It’s amicable and Eissa will stay with his mother, who is basing herself in London.”
There was always speculation that Jackson had converted to Islam for him but nothing was ever confirmed.
With Wissam estimated to be worth at least $1.3 billion – more than four times Janet’s reported worth – the divorce will definitely be worth a lot of money!
This will be Jackson’s third divorce, after she was previously married to musician James DeBarge from 1984 until 1985 and dancer Rene Elizondo Jr. from 1991 until 2000.
