Kanye West Reveals What His Meeting With Donald Trump Was About

Kanye West has been keeping an extremely low profile over the last few weeks but he was seen walking into Trump Tower on Tuesday morning to have a meeting with president elect Donald Trump.
Journalists that were on the scene captured images of this strange meeting first and instantly tweeted the information out which subsequently spread like wildfire.
While in the lobby Trump and West posed for the cameras and said a few words about their encounter.
“We’ve been friends for a long time,” Mr. Trump told reporters. When asked what he and West talked about, he responded: “Life. We discussed life.”
Kanye West however provided his fans with more information when he tweeted what the meeting was about with the President-Elect.
“I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues,” the 39-year-old entertainer wrote. “These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago.”
He continued by saying, “I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.” He then concluded his tweets with “#2024,” a reference to his declaration that he planned to run for president in 2020.
While many were quick to point out that this was all a publicity stunt to gain media attention I was left feeling quite unnerved by the whole thing.
Firstly we all know West is having issues. He was hospitalised for exhaustion and suffered an emotional breakdown. He has a mental illness he is dealing with and at the moment we know he is receiving care at an out-patient clinic.
Here’s why the footage today left me feeling uneasy. It looked like West was heavily medicated and unsure of his surroundings. He looked uncomfortable and at times had a vacant stare. While we can all sit back in the comfort of our homes and mock him because of his past behaviour it doesn’t change the fact that right here in front of us is a man who is struggling.
In fact when one of the reporters asked him a question about Trump he shrugged it off and said “I just want to take a picture right now.” This is odd behaviour, even for West.
So after we’ve finished mocking this whole situation and strange encounter lets then stop and show a little compassion for someone who looks to be vulnerable and visibly struggling to cope.
