Kate Ritchie Takes Us Back To The 90’s By Wearing Her Summer Bay School Uniform

Kate Ritchie was best known back in the 90’s for playing Australia’s favourite school girl- Sally Fletcher. She played the loveable character for most of her formative years and the whole nation grew to love her as their own daughter.

The 37 year old radio presenter has now donned the famous tartan school dress once again for a ‘Back to the 90’s’ day on her show. As part of the segment on Nova 96.9 Kate shared a pic of herself wearing the dress she wore nearly 20 years ago- and truth be told- she looks amazing!

The former Home and Away actress captioned the snap with ‘Am I really doing this?! @katetimmarty take a trip back to 1996,’

Her co-hosts Tim and Marty stirred her throughout the segment about her gig on the popular series where Heath Ledger made an appearance as her love interest Scott Irwin.

The actress, who played Sally Fletcher from 1988 to 2008  filmed 10 episodes with Heath Ledger playing her bad-boy love interest.

Her co-hosts were quick to point out that for most of those scenes the two love birds were drunk and spent  most of the time making out before heading to a friend’s camper van.

‘Apparently you were schtooping Heath Ledger in ’96,’ Tim said. To which Kate replied: ‘Well I don’t think you say schtooping, I think it was a romantic rendezvous in the back of a panel van.’ Marty then exclaimed: ‘I didn’t even know you knew Heath Ledger.’

Oh Marty it’s because you don’t listen and I don’t tend to share too many stories because then it would be ‘oh I’d be dropping names again’,’ Kate replied.

‘Today we took the show back to 1996, the guuuuuyyys even dressed the part!’

Kate was also asked whether or not she ever kissed Heath Ledger while he appeared on the show.
‘No! You can’t ask things like that! I’ve said to you before, we never had any… liaison,’ she replied.
‘He was never just a young working actor, he was always a bit of a star – even then. He couldn’t stay for long because he had places to go.’
