KFC Have Unveiled A New Colonel Sanders And He Definitely Looks Crispy!

KFC have just enlisted a legendary Hollywood actor who is best known for his year round golden tan to play Colonel Sanders in their new ads for Extra Crispy Chicken in the US.

Golden Globe winner George Hamilton will be the fourth Colonel since the character was revived by the fast food giant last year. The first two were Darrell Hammond and Norm MacDonald. The current colonel, Jim Gaffigan will continue to play the role for the Original Recipe ads and George Hamilton will play the part for the Crispy Chicken ones.

George Hamilton as Creepy Colonel

I don’t know about you, but I find the new colonel kind of creepy looking. He looks like he’s saying- Hey baby, wanna piece of my crispy chicken?! Ewwww!

The KFC marketing department gave this statement, explaining why they selected Hamilton for the role:

“Extra Crispy Chicken is fried to a golden brown. George Hamilton isn’t fried to a golden brown, but he is tanned to a golden brown,” KFC’S Kevin Hochman said.

Ummm ok. Not sure I want to be thinking about George’s crispy, dried up looking leathery skin while I’m biting into my drumstick.

What do you think? Is this a marketing win or fail?
