Kim Kardashian West Explains Why They Named Their Fourth Child Psalm.
Love them or hate them there’s no denying the fact that the Kardashian-Wests make really cute babies!
The latest addition to the dynasty is fourth child and second son Psalm. The couple are already parents to daughters North and Chicago as well as young son Saint.
While Kim’s surrogate was pregnant with Psalm, the punters were working overtime trying to guess what the latest offspring would be called. We all knew it was never going to be Jack or Tom although there were whispers Robert was in the running. You see, Kim’s late father was Robert Kardashian and her brother is named Rob as well.
Ultimately the name proved too basic for the Wests so settled on a name that ticked all the boxes for the family…meaningful…fits in with the rest…and hard to say!
Psalm, which in Hebrew means song, is pronounced Saam with the P being silent. Sources say the name Psalm “was chosen by Kanye and is a representation of their spirituality.”
“It was a very important to him, and Kim wanted the name to have a significance that held a true representation of their family, so she agreed on the name,” they went on.
“The name Psalm was very important to Kanye and where he is spiritually,” the source continued. “He presented it to Kim and she thought about it and ultimately agreed.”
All the kid’s names have a special meaning. North was named after the geographical position north-west which means the highest power.
Saint’s name refers back to Kim’s difficult pregnancy and how his birth was an absolute blessing for the family. (Friends say Kim wanted to name Saint Easton but Kanye wasn’t having it!)
And just in case you hadn’t realised yet, Kanye has a big say in what the kid’s are named. It also looks like spirituality is the next big thing in the Kardashian-West household. Kanye has even formed his own ‘church’ of sorts called Kanye’s Sunday Service, which involves a lot of people dressed in what look like potato sacks, singing on hilltops in LA.
Kim describes the service as an interfaith healing experience and has many celebrities as fans. Khloe Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian are also among the weekly attendees as well as their close friends. Other celebrities such as Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and Diplo have also attended on occasion.
But it’s North who really shines at these sing-a-longs and is often seen front and centre with the mic in her hand. She really has stolen the show with her performances a number of times.
“It’s honestly more like a healing experience for my husband. It’s just music; there’s no sermon,” Kim recently told Elle. “It’s definitely something he believes in—Jesus—and there’s a Christian vibe. But there’s no preaching. It’s just a very spiritual Christian experience.”
“Everyone that comes understands it’s just a really healing experience with an amazing choir, and amazing messages about love to start off your week,” Kim explained.
