Model and TV presenter Laura Csortan has called in lawyers to help keep persistent rumours at bay about the paternity of her baby girl.
Csortan gave birth to her first child, Layla Rose, in November last year and has kept the identity of the father a secret. The former model has chosen to raise her daughter as a single mum and has said she has the blessing of the father who has agreed to not be involved in her upbringing.
In recent weeks however, Csortan has been forced to seek legal action from law firm Mark O’Brien Legal to defend the ongoing speculation. The mum of one has denied the paternity allegations as has the man involved (who has not been named).
‘He, the father, respects my decision (to have the baby), and when the baby’s older I’m happy with her finding out who the father is,’ she told Woman’s Day last year. ‘I’m going into this with an open mind’.
At the time of Layla’s birth, the TV presenter posted the touching photo above on Instagram to announce her arrival. ‘Welcome to the world my angel,’ the caption read.
Csortan is happy raising Layla as a single mum and says the support she has received from other women like herself has been inspiring to say the least. She said it was ‘amazing receiving so many messages from other single mums and likeminded women’.
The beauty queen’s last reported romance was with Port Adelaide AFL player Chad Cornes, last year.
Before Cornes, Laura dated the much younger Abercrombie & Fitch model Joshua Slack for several months in 2014 after meeting through friends in Los Angeles. They later broke up and Csortan admitted that she found their eleven-year age gap ‘overpowering’.
