LOGIES Red Carpet Gallery

Well it was Australian television’s “night of nights” (as we are all legally obliged to call it) on Sunday night with the 55th Annual TV Week Logies held at Melbourne’s Crown Palladium. And what better way to present this week’s fashion gallery than with a Top Ten Best and Worst Dressed List!

The Top 10 Best Dressed Logie Red Carpet Stars

10. Claudia Karvan

*

I like this gown; it has a beautiful shape and is eclectic enough to suit Claudia’s style and personality. The white floral panels at the sides soften it and add interest.

9.  Ada Nicodemou

*

Whilst this gown does have a bridal feel to it, the sheer lace gives it a sexy edge that most wedding gowns steer away from. It is just unfortunate that her choice of clutch makes it look like she’s carrying around an enormous pair of reading glasses.

8.  Natalie Barr

*

The Sunrise presenter looks amazing in this blushy-beige lace number. We’ve seen a lot of similar gowns of late and yet this one still looks fresh and on trend thanks to the belt and the sheer lace across the top of the bodice.

7.  Lisa Wilkinson

*

Always a crowd favourite, Lisa’s teal gown showed off just enough skin without letting it all hang out (more of that later down the list). Lisa has worn this gauzy wrapped style before and it suits her down to the ground.

6.  Rebecca Gibney

*

This is exactly what we were expecting from Aussie TV royalty and Rebecca didn’t disappoint. The gown fits her like a glove and the sheer lace panels in the skirt are a divine an unexpected touch.

5.  Carrie Bickmore

*

Carrie stood out from the black and white crowd in this stunning open-backed watermelon shaded gown. Her hair is reminiscent of classic Hollywood glamour and she positively glowed on the red carpet. Simply stunning.

4.  Kate Ritchie

*

The 34 year old seasoned professional wore a breathtaking sheer halter dress with lace bodice to the big event. She kept her accessories to a minimum allowing her gown to shine and added diamond earrings and cocktail ring for a touch of sparkle.

3.  Samara Weaving

*

The young Home and Away starlet got it oh-so right with her long sleeved red lace gown from Sydney-based designer Steven Khalil who designed most of the dresses in this list.

2.  Sonia Kruger

*

Another striking long sleeved gown from Steven Khalil! I loved Sonia’s look, from her stunning boat neckline to the clawed clutch to the split hemline. This colour looks awesome on her.

1.  Michelle Bridges

*

By far and away the most popular dress of the night belonged to The Biggest Loser Trainer Michelle Bridges. Although her hair could have been glammed up a couple of notches with a polished up do, her frock was absolutely to die for. It showed off curves we didn’t know she had! I think most of us would love to have this dress tucked away in their wardrobe (not to mention having somewhere worthy enough to wear it!).

The Top 10 Worst Dressed Logie Red Carpet Stars

10. Lauren Philips

*

In theory this dress should work. It is on-trend with the peplum and leather pieces, there is a split, there are sequins, the colouring is right on her etc. But it doesn’t. It looks like two dresses have been cut up and re-assembled to make one dress.

9.  Jennifer Hawkins

*

Ooh, aren’t all the fashionistas getting their expensive knickers in a twist over this dress? Well I’m not, it looks like it’s fighting back and trying to choke her. Pick a style and stick with it, that’s what I always say. From the neckline down though, it’s pure elegance.

8.  Natalie Bassingthwaighte

*

I get that it’s hard to find red carpet worthy maternity frocks. Not that I’ve actually gone looking for one, mind you. And I also believe that the pregnant body is a very beautiful thing. But you can take it too far. Natalie took it too far and then some.

7.  Asher Keddie

*

Another one they are all in a tizz over. But really? It’s boring. It’s a nothing dress worn without a scrap of style or elegance. Did she even get her hair done? Does she really want to be there? And she won too!

6.  Kerri-Anne Kennerley

*

Not only does Kerri-Anne’s dress look like a brightly patterned circus tent, but the split up the front makes it look like the zippered entrance. Also, shimmery pantyhose went out in the early 90s. Hair and makeup looking fab as always though KAK.

5.  Matt Preston

*

It appears Matt Preston was mugged on the way to the event and in the ensuing shirt robbery the thieves cruelly messed up his hair.

4.  Kat Stewart

*

Another one who has decided to eschew all forms of style and elegance and just throw on the first thing she saw when she woke up from her afternoon nanna nap – the hotel curtain. She didn’t even bother to do her hair.

3.  Annabel Crabb

*

This appears to be Little Red Riding Hood’s cousin. This would have been a gorgeous dress about 22 years ago.

2.  Brynne Edelsten

*

We can always trust our Brynnie to get it wrong. This year she went with less boob but more fringe and who can blame her? At least she left Gramps at home.

1.  Susie Elelman

*

What would the Logies be without an inappropriate shocker from Susie Elelman? There really isn’t much more to be said about this one.

What do you think of all the red carpet glamour from The Logies?
