Hands up if you’d like to see Madonna and Sean Penn rekindle their tumultuous and passionate love affair?
Well, it just might happen! The 58 year old singer offered to re-marry her ex-husband while hosting a charity gala benefitting Raising Malawi in Miami, Florida, on Friday. But only if he bid $150,000 for the cause.
“I’m still in love with you,” she told the 56-year-old actor on stage, in front of a star-studded audience which included Leonardo DiCaprio, Chris Rock, Courtney Love, David Blane, Dave Chapelle, Bethenny Frankel and James Corden.
Penn agreed to the offer (paying the money that is) and even handcuffed her arms and crawled through her legs in an effort to get the crowd to bid higher. “For once, he’s not the one being arrested,” she joked.
The singer hosted the evening to raise money for Raising Malawi which is the not-for profit organisation she founded in 2006. The event raised $7.5 which will go towards building Malawi’s first pediatric surgery and intensive care unit, which will be named Mercy James Institute of Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care and is set to open in 2017.
Madonna also auctioned off a costume from her 2015 Rebel Heart tour, which was modelled by singer Ariana Grande.
“Excited to support @raisingmalawi and shimmy with my queen @madonna tonight (in her very own Rebel Heart tour outfit),” Grande wrote on the Instagram pic.
The two performers even managed to get a bit of synchronised twerking in – much to the delight of the crowd!
