Mama June’s Dramatic Weight Loss Is Revealed For The First Time In ‘From Not To Hot’ trailer!
Mama June (real name Shannon June) shot to fame in 2012 as the mum of Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson in Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, a child beauty pageant reality TV series that was once described as a “horror story posing as a reality television program.”
Despite its misgiving, viewers quickly fell in love with the matriarch and her loud, boisterous southern antics.
Fans of Mama June will know she’s set out on a weight loss journey unlike any other. The realty TV show has reportedly lost a whopping 80 kilos with the help of gastric sleeve and skin removal surgeries!
In a new sneak peek for her show ‘From Not to Hot’ viewers were given a glimpse at her dramatic transformation which has seen her shrink down from 210kg to a UK size 8!
The mum has been keeping her weight loss a secret after the Thompson daughters revealed that Mama June had to “stay in hiding” and wear disguises so she wouldn’t ruin the big weight loss reveal.
“It’s been really hard for her to stay hidden, because my mama is not just a person who can stay in the house,” daughter Alana said.
The 37-year-old stars in her new reality show which follows her weight loss journey, after she decided she needed to get a ‘revenge body’ for her ex and Honey Boo Boo’s dad, Sugar Bear (Mike Thompson) who is getting remarried.
“It’s not like I want Sugar (see below) back or anything, but I’m not ready to see him with anyone else, either,” she admitted on camera.
The trailer sees Mama June looking ‘ah-mazing’ as she discusses the forthcoming wedding with 11-year-old Alana.
Honey Boo Boo (AKA Alana) has also admitted her mum has been covering up in public to keep her weight loss a secret –even dressing in fat suits as to not spoil the surprise weight loss which will be revealed on the show in the series finale on April 7.
