Margot Robbie Wore Her Mother’s Vintage Wedding Dress to Marry Tom Ackerley
Details are starting to filter through from Margot Robbie‘s secret Byron Bay wedding to British beau Tom Ackerley. The surprise ceremony took place at a private property at Coorabell, in the Byron Bay hinterland, earlier this week.
It has been revealed that Margot wore her mother’s thirty-year old vintage wedding dress.
The white lace gown, originally owned by Robbie’s mother Sarie Kessler, was altered by Gold Coast-based fashion label Casey Tanswell for the occasion.
Tanswell’s alteration team turned the dress around, including changing the lining, in a matter of days. The designer described the moment to friends as a “life highlight”.
“(Tanswell) had been approached by a friend to do the alterations,” a source close to the Queensland fashion label said.
“She didn’t know it was Margot until she turned up at her home for the fitting.”
In images obtained by NewsCorp, the beautiful 26-year-old bride wore a cream, lace off-the-shoulder wedding dress. She decided to forgo a veil and wear her hair in loose curls, pinned away from her face.
