The social experiment that was Married At First Sight ended last night and we were all left wondering whether the experts got it right.
Sadly, the answer is no. While all three couples seemed to have been happy during last night’s finale it seems things were very different when the camera’s stopped rolling. Word is all three couples have now separated. Split up. No longer together. Kaput. Over!
While Nicole and Keller are no longer together, he is still hopeful things may work out for them in the future.
Keller says they were seeing each other ‘on and off’ after filming stopped six months ago and while he wants to make it work, it’s Nicole who’s unsure.
“She’s the one that I want,” the 26-year-old said. “I feel like we are meant to be together, but I don’t know if now is the right time.
“I still have heavy, heavy feelings for her, but it’s just really hard when she’s indecisive. I said to her the other day, ‘It’s really unfair on me to be going through this – I can’t keep going like this’.”
Unfortunately Nicole has other views.
“While we connected on a lot of levels… there were just some behaviours that I couldn’t get past,” the 28-year-old primary school teacher says. I’m happily single at the moment. I think that after being on such an amazing rollercoaster, I need to take some time for myself.”
Michael seemed to have amazing chemistry with Bella and viewers were hopeful the two would continue together once the show ended. Michael explained that they were just too different to make it work.
“We just had two completely different lifestyles,” he says. “She’s a natural extrovert, and I’m actually an introvert.I would happily stay at home, and she would definitely not.”
Bella agrees with Michael’s sentiments and wishes him nothing but the best for his future.
“It just didn’t work out,” the radio announcer says. “We have two different lifestyles. But he’s amazing, and I just wish all the best for him and hope that he finds his true love.”
Mark and Monica looked to be the most suited on the show but unfortunately the chemistry seemed to disappear once the cameras stopped rolling!
Mark says the split was amicable and that the two didn’t feel like they had a very strong connection or that much in common.
“It just basically comes down to a lot of what we bonded over and a lot of what we sort of created our relationship about was the TV show,” Mark, 30, says. “Once the experiment finished, we didn’t really have as much in common as we really wanted to have in common.”
Monica, 28 also agreed that things felt very different once the show ended.
“We both went into it with very good intentions, but when the cameras stopped rolling, I think it was very clear that we were better just as friends,” the 28-year-old says.
The two other couples from Married At First Sight- Andy & Craig and Jess & Dave had already split before the finale had even aired. And for all the die-hard fans Nine has confirmed another season for 2017 with a massive 10 couples to meet at the altar. Stay tuned!
