Offspring Set to Return in 2017 with Seventh Season Announced
After months of speculation, Channel Ten have finally announced that one of Australia’s most loved series Offspring will return for its seventh season next year.
The dramedy, which stars Asher Keddie as obstetrician Nina Proudman, has been commissioned for another 10 episodes which will be aired mid-2017.
“We’re thrilled that Asher and the team are coming back and our intention is to bring back as many of the main cast as possible, ” Ten program chief Beverley McGarvey says.
“We’ve already got some scripts together for the early episodes. There are stories for everybody.”
“As always, it’s great to be back for another season of Offspring,” Asher Keddie told News Corp. “It’s the gift that keeps on giving, and I’m looking forward to the madness of it all once again.”
Season six ended with plenty of other cliffhangers to keep viewers watching. Jimmy and Zara Proudman are trying to patch up their marriage after infidelity.
Billie has been playing cupid for half-brother Will and boss-lady Kerry. Newlyweds Cherie and Martin look set to leave St Francis to work in the outback. And Brody has just given birth to her new baby.
Channel Ten have also announced that they will return weight loss reality show The Biggest Loser to our screens “in a new format” in 2017.
