Pink Stops Concert To Give Young Teen Who Recently Lost Her Mum A Hug!
Singer Pink has spent so much time touring Australia that we’ve pretty much adopted her as an Aussie! She’s as real as they come and always finds the time to connect with her legion of fans who would do anything for the rockstar mum!
On Monday, the mum of two gave as yet another reason to love her. Pink stopped her Brisbane concert midway to comfort a grieving fan who had just lost her mum.
Fourteen year old Leah Murphy, said her and her mum had planned to see the show together, but before they could go, her mum passed away. So the young girl’s aunt, Katrina Donkin, went with Leah and together they held up posters in hopes of getting Pink’s attention.
Leah held up a sign saying, ‘My name is Leah – I’m 14 years old. I lost my beautiful Mum last month. I would LOVE a hug … Please!’ When Pink saw it she stopped her show and called out “where’s Leah?”
The audience then made way for the teen to reach the star in the front row, allowing the singer to hold the grieving daughter for what in her arms.” As Leah trembled with tears, the singer whispered, “It’s going to be alright,” and signed her hand.
“She told me that I looked pretty. She said ‘oh don’t cry’,” Leah told the Courier Mail.“She said that everything was going to be OK. Then she signed my arm and we took a selfie. “I also said to Pink how much my mum loved her. It meant everything.”
Leah’s aunt Katrina explains the hurdles the two went through to actually get tickets to Pink’s show.
“The first concert got postponed, then I left the new tickets in Cairns and had to call on favours so friends could break into my house to get them, and then Qantas crew got them to Brisbane,” Katrina said.
“Then security tried to take the posters off us. But it was a series of events that led her into Pink’s arms. It was meant to be – like a hug from heaven.”
Meant to be indeed!! Keep shining Pink and sharing your infectious positivity with us all!
