Prince William Says He Too Has Struggled At Times With Parenthood
Prince William has just given us another reason to love him even more. The heir to the throne admitted recently that he too has “struggled at times” with becoming a parent.
The admission was made on the talk show “Talk Vietnam,” where he spoke openly about all the highs and lows of becoming a father. Prince William didn’t sugarcoat anything and was completely honest about his transition from single, to married man to becoming a father.
Together with his wife Kate Middleton, he says that having kids has definitely change their lives.
“I’ve struggled at times. The alteration from being a single, independent man to going into marriage and then having children is life-changing,” he said. “I adore my children very much, and I’ve learned a lot about myself and about family just from having my own children. It’s amazing how much you pick up in just those moments.”
The Prince has both a son and a daughter and while he admits Prince George can be quite boisterous, it’s in fact Princess Charlotte that has taken some getting used to.
“I haven’t had a sister, so having a daughter is a very different dynamic. So I’m learning about having a daughter, having a girl in the family,” he said.
When asked about what he hopes to pass on to his children the Prince spoke from the heart saying all the material wealth can be quite tricky to navigate.
“I would like them to grow up with more simple aspirations. I think there’s a lot of huge aspirations and people living with an enormous amount of stuff that they don’t necessarily need. The materialism of the world I find quite tricky sometimes. I would like George and Charlotte to grow up being a little bit more simple in their approach and their outlook, and just looking after those around them and treating others as they would like to be treated themselves.”
