Robin Thicke Loses Custody Of His Six Year Old Son
Robin Thicke has reportedly lost custody of his six year old son Julian as ex-wife Paula Patton gets a restraining order against him.
The Blurred Lines singer was accused of “spanking” and “punching” their son which saw him lose custody of the boy. Thicke and Patton both applied for temporary sole custody of Julian at a court in LA on Thursday with the judge ruling in the mum’s favour.
Patton’s application for a domestic violence restraining order against Thicke was also granted. This means the father of one can’t go near his ex or their son.
The dispute between the couple began when the six year old allegedly told his teacher that his father often “punches” him, which led to an investigation by the Department of Children and Family Services.
Thicke’s lawyers claim the DCFS is planning to close the investigation because the allegations are “unfounded”, and that Patton herself is under investigation for “emotional abuse.”
A restraining order against Thicke was requested after the singer was denied access to Julian when he went to pick him up from school one day. After becoming enraged at the situation he went to their home and started banging on the door when Patton wouldn’t open it.
The Blurred Lines singer has however admitted to “lightly spanking” his son, but only in a way that is “consistent with the law”. He went on to say that it was a disciplinary measure they both decided to use. “This is the type of discipline to which Paula and I agreed during our marriage,” he previously said.
