Russell Brand Reveals That He May Raise New Baby Gender Neutral
UK Comedian, actor, writer and activist, Russell Brand has revealed that he may not impose a sex on his child and will raise them without the concept of being male or female until they’re ready to decide what they are.
Russell explained his parenting plans while talking to Jonathan Ross on the Jonathan Ross show.
“We don’t know the gender I may not even ever impose a gender upon it, let the child grow up and be the whatever the hell it is, never tell it there is such a concept.”
Host Jonathan spoke of how Russell has calmed a lot in recent years, after proposing to his long-term girlfriend Laura Gallacher, and making the move to a more peaceful life..
“I like it as a matter of fact. I live a quiet rural life now out in the country… this animal husbandry and his new venture I think will soon put me back on top.”
He continued: “I read a different book every week and I read one on preparation for fatherhood to mentally prepare me for it. I don’t know that it has prepared me for it.”
“I’ve painted the room, I’ve done the things that you’re supposed to do, I’ve accepted the idea that that person will be more important than me, ‘Jesus Three’ I’m thinking of calling him or her.”
This man is a comedian, of that we are sure. But whether or not he is joking about these statements remains to be seen. The happy couple are due to welcome their new baby this month.
