Kim Kardashian West was tied up at gunpoint and robbed of $14m of jewellery in Paris.

The masked men who broke into her apartment in the early hours of the morning allegedly pointed a gun at the reality star’s temple before tying her up and locking her in the bathroom. During the harrowing ordeal the thieves made off with more than $14 million worth of jewellery as well as her mobile phones. The masked men then escaped on their bikes.

Kardashian West was staying at the residence near Paris’ Madeleine church where police said the thieves entered the building after the concierge let them in. He was then handcuffed and at gunpoint, he then led them to the star’s flat.

Questions were initially raised as to why Kardashian West’s bodyguard wasn’t there but it was later discovered that he was out at a nightclub protecting her other sisters.

A spokeswoman for Kardashian West said the reality TV star was “badly shaken but physically unharmed.” Sources say she begged for her life and told the gunman she had two children waiting for her at home.

Kardashian West was last seen leaving Paris on a private jet, no doubt bound for LA. Police said her family was placed under police protection at the George V hotel after the incident.

While the jewellery stolen had the most monetary value, it’s the theft of her mobile phones that is most worrying. Apart from private photos and videos that they may contain, private information such as bank account details and passwords may all be on there as well. Time will tell what the thieves will decide to do with all the data and information they find on the two devices.
