Grammy nominated singer Sia has split from her husband of two years Erik Anders Lang. The couple released a joint statement to People magazine saying:
“After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple. We are, however, dedicated to remaining friends. There will be no further comment.”
The couple were married at Sia’s Palm Springs home in August 2014, two months after they announced their engagement.
The notoriously shy Sia is a successful artist who has written songs for Beyonce, Rihanna and Katy Perry as well as her own super hits Chandelier and Cheap Thrills.
Sia usually hides her face on stage and won’t appear in her own videos. She has earned herself earned three Grammy nominations including best pop vocal album for This Is Acting.
The 40 year old Adelaide-born Sia was previously in a long term same-sex relationship with JD Samson from feminist band Le Tigre. That relationship ended in 20111.
