Week #70: Celebrity Fashion Fix
Celebrity Fashion Fix
The Great Gatsby premieres, various charity bashes and TV series’ launches – all fodder for us to rate here on our weekly fashion gallery! Which one is YOUR favourite this week? Tell us which star is your best dressed and tell us EXACTLY what you think!
Nina Dobrev
Nina Dobrev hit the black carpet at the premiere of The Great Gatsby on Wednesday evening (May 1) at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.
The ‘Vampire Diaries’ actress is wearing an art deco Versace Spring 2013 frock, Rupert Sanderson Spring 2013 Elba pumps featuring metallic gold leather, almond-toe and crystal studded 4.3″ stiletto heel, Susan Foster jewellery, and a Jimmy Choo Cosma clutch.
Perfect for the premiere of a film set in the 1920s.
Carey Mulligan
Carey Mulligan is the lady in red while hitting the carpet at the premiere of The Great Gatsby on Wednesday (May 1) at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.
The 27-year-old actress is wearing a Lanvin Fall 2013 structural double-bonded dress, Brian Atwood Aida platform sandals featuring black satin, double platform and buckled halter strap, and $131,500 worth of Tiffany & Co. jewellery.
I don’t like her dress very much. It’s a bit naff. I mean, it’s nice and all. But when you’re the female lead in a major film adaptation of one of the greatest American novels of all time and you’re at the WORLD premiere of said film in New York, I would like to think that you’d make more of an effort.
Sarah Jessica Parker
Sarah Jessica Parker is a sparkling white beauty while attending the 2013 AOL Digital Content NewFront held at Moynihan Station on Tuesday (April 30) in New York City.
SJP is wearing a L’Agence dress, Manolo Blahnik shoes, and carrying an Elisabeth Weinstock bag.
I really like this but I hate the pocket pose. LOVE the jewels with the dress.
Kate Bosworth
Kate Bosworth attends super hairstylist Harry Josh‘s first annual #HarrysParty on Saturday (May 4) held at The Jane Hotel in New York City.
Yes, the event came with its own pretentious hashtag.
The 30-year-old actress, who was joined at the event by fiance Michael Polish (not pictured), rocked a cut-out dress for the occasion.
Why wear a frock designed to show off your breast enhancement scars?
But this one is totally adorable. Love it!
Kate Bosworth hit the red carpet at the premiere of her film Big Sur during the 2013 San Francisco International Film Festival on Sunday (April 28) at the Sundance Kabuki Cinema in San Francisco.
Kate is wearing an Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 collection black wool-boucle dress with a silk-chiffon yoke, accented with a black waistband, with a Devi Kroell clutch and a Graziela ring.
Also, I just like saying Oscar de la Renta.
Isla Fisher
Isla Fisher glams up for the premiere of her new film The Great Gatsby on Wednesday evening (May 1) at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.
The 37-year-old actress is wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress formed in two parts: a sheer navy floral-print top and a black lace skirt with a short underlay and floral appliqués.
A black Roger Vivier clutch, Fred Leighton jewels and Dolce & Gabbana heels completed her look.
I don’t hate this, but there are elements that I don’t particularly like. On the whole though, she looks lovely so Isla is nowhere near our worst dressed this week.
What do you think of this gown?
More Celebrity Dresses
Julianne Moore
Julianne Moore walked the red carpet at the screening of her film What Maisie Knew on Thursday (May 2) at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in New York City.
Firstly, I hate the top part of her hair. I’ve seen this hairstyle quite a bit and it has confused me on more than one occasion. I am forever trying to get the OPPOSITE effect on my daughters’ hair for school and yet we have this.
Also, the dress makes her look much much wider than she actually is. And I hate the skirt. Fail.
Katy Perry
Katy Perry glams up while walking the red carpet at the 2013 Delete Blood Cancer Gala on Wednesday (May 1) at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
The 28-year-old singer is wearing a Vera Wang azure Indian damask strapless gown which used the print from the designer’s Spring 2013 collection.
This dress is stunning – it fits like a glove, plus Katy looks so regal and poised. I adore her amethyst earrings contrasting with her gown. (remember Sofia Vergara’s last week?)
Jimmy Choo heels, a Judith Leiber clutch, and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery complete her fabulous look.
Katy Perry keeps it dressy while attending the Gatsby Opening Cocktail Party on Tuesday (April 30) in New York City.
The 28-year-old entertainer opted to wear a wine-coloured floral-print Prada Spring 2013 frock, accented with a black patent belt and styled with a black patent clutch with a floral motif and dual-colour Prada flatforms with a cute bow accent.
Zoe Saldana
Zoe Saldana attended the premiere of her upcoming film Star Trek Into Darkness held at the Empire Leicester Square on Thursday (May 2) in London, England.
The 34-year-old actress is wearing a Vionnet Pre-Fall 2013 gown with an embellished black bodice and white high-low skirt, black suede Christian Louboutin Rampoldi peep-toe pumps and clutch, and Tiffany and Co. jewellery.
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen anything quite like this before. Trailing loo paper stuck in her panties after a pit stop comes to mind though.
Emilia Clarke
Emilia Clarke dolls up while attending the 2013 Actors Fund’s Annual Gala at the New York Marriott Marquis on Monday (April 29) in New York City.
The 25-year-old actress is wearing a Christian Dior Spring 2013 collection dress and belt with Christian Louboutin clutch and shoes.
Emilia’s strapless frock with an exciting burst of crystal embroidery throughout was accented with a metal belt, black satin clutch and patent-leather peep-toes.
Winona Ryder
Winona Ryder attended a screening of her new flick The Iceman held at Chelsea Clearview Cinemas on Monday (April 29) in New York City.
Hang on a minute, Goose, Iceman…. where’s Maverick, Jester and Viper?
Oh, and I would totally wear this dress. Too cute.
