Mother’s Day is just around the corner!

With Mother’s Day only a few days away you’re probably looking forward to spending a relaxing day at home, being pampered by your partner and children. I know I am! After all, even super mums deserve the occasional day of pampering.

However, just remember that the reality of your Mother’s Day may be a little different to the Mother’s Day, you’ve been looking forward to. Last year I got woken up at 6am by my two youngest children, who thought they’d celebrate Mother’s Day by screaming “happy birthday mummy!” at the top of their lungs and jumping on top of me.

However if the idea of a day of relaxation appeals to you, just make sure to let your partner and children know ahead of time so that they accommodate your wishes.

This year I’ve hinted to my hubby that I’d love to stay in and relax and so he suggested that we order in takeaways and watch a few movies as a family. While breakfast in bed would be lovely, my idea of a perfect Mother’s Day is snuggling up on the couch with my nearest and dearest.

If you’re struggling coming up with ideas to surprise your own mum, I highly recommend inviting her over to spend the day with you and the kids.

After all, no matter how old you get your mum will always want to spend Mother’s Day with her little girl. My mum and I still cherish our yearly tradition of making pancakes together. A tradition we now share with my two girls who always ask for Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes.

So no matter what you choose to do on Mother’s Day, just make sure to show your mum and your children how much you love them. Who knows, you may even come up with your own special Mother’s Day traditions!

p.s. Just to make a kick out of it, look what I found online. It’s just so funny 🙂
