The world has lost another sporting legend.
All Blacks star Jonah Lomu passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning aged 40.
He passed away suddenly.
Jonah was diagnosed with a serious kidney disease called nephrotic syndrome in 1995 and had a kidney transplant in 2004. However, his body rejected it in 2011 leaving him relying on dialysis.
He had recently been in the United Kingdom for the rugby World Cup and returned to New Zealand yesterday.
A family spokesperson confirmed the sad news saying, “I can confirm that Jonah Lomu died this morning… it was totally unexpected, Jonah and his family arrived back from the UK last night.”
