Brad and Angelina Open up About Cancer Battle in New Sit-down Interview

In a joint interview on America’s The Today Show, Brad Pitt and Angelina discussed her double masectomy she had in 2013 and the decision to have her ovaries removed earlier this year.
Brad said that her approach to the situation was to make the best of it, explaining: ‘There was a strength in that. It was just another one of those things in life that makes you tighter and she was doing it for the kids, and she was doing it for her family so we could be together.’
After learning that she had an 87 percent risk of developing breast cancer due to a certain gene, Angelina had the double mastectomy at the age of 37.
Due to the same anomaly, she had a 50 per cent risk of developing ovarian cancer and decided to get the oophorectomy two years later, which brought upon early menopause.
‘There was no vanity to my wife’s approach,’ 51-year-old Brad said. ‘It was mature.’
