Celine Dion Makes Emotional Return to the Stage After Husband’s Death

Celine Dion has given tearful tribute to her late husband after she stepped on stage for the first time since his death.
The singer returned to her Las Vegas residency this week, a month after losing Rene Angelil to cancer at the age of just 73. Sadly, her brother Daniel also died just two days later.
While on stage, she couldn’t help but tear up as she performed her hit song All By Myself.
The show began with a montage of family photos and videos shown on the big screen, before Celine shared memories of her husband with the audience.
“Through my life, I only had eyes for my husband, who sat out here night after night,” she said. “People thought that I was looking at him actually, but I didn’t need to because every time I closed my eyes I felt Rene on stage with me. Whether he was seated in his seat right there, in the balcony, backstage or at home with the kids, he’s always been onstage with me and nothing will ever change that.”
