David Letterman bids Farewell to Late Night After 33 Years.

After 33 years and 6028 episodes, David Letterman has retired from Late Night.

His last show ran 17 minutes over its usual hour, but CBS producers didn’t bat an eyelid.

Stars including Tina Fey, Steve Martin, Barbara Walters, Jim Carrey and the Foo Fighters helped David celebrate his long and successful career.

David announced his retirement in 2014. He will be replaced by Stephen Colbert in September.
