Emi and Marie win The Hotplate
In a very close Grand Final, Brisbane’s Emi and Marie won cooking show The Hotplate and took home a $100,000 cash prize.
The best friends have revealed that they intend to use the prize money to open another restaurant.
“We’ve always said that we’re going to put it in to opening a second restaurant so we just have to find the location,” Marie says.
They are looking at spots in Brisbane, but are hoping they can eventually open restaurants across Australia.
“The money will give us the drive to go ahead and open the empire,” Marie says.
The girls also have no plans to become TV chefs or release a cookbook.
“I’ll stay clear of that,” Marie says. “We did the show to try and find investors and grow the business and that’s the path Emi and I want to go down.”
