If you’re a fan of either House Rules or Million Dollar Minute we have some bad news – Channel 7 has decided to axe the popular shows.
Thanks to a ratings war, Seven program chief Angus Ross promises to “unleash hell” on rivals Nine and Ten with a swag of new programs in September.
A new series of House Rules, already filmed and originally slated to screen in late 2015, won’t go to air this year and quiz show Million Dollar Minute is set to be dumped from the 5.30pm timeslot.
House Rules, hosted by Johanna Griggs, was shelved because it would go up against the new series of The Block on Nine in the 7.30pm timeslot.
In good news, the axed shows are being replaced with some pretty exciting ones – Peter Allen: The Boy Next Door (which has been has been rushed to air – it was originally scheduled to screen next February), Erik Thomson drama 800 Words, and the return of The X Factor, with new judges Chris Isaak and James Blunt joining Dannii Minogue and Guy Sebastian.
New quiz show The Chase Australia will go into the 5pm to 6pm timeslot, replacing Million Dollar Minute and repeats of Deal or No Deal.
