After Jimmy Davis was eliminated from The X Factor Australia on Wednesday night, he came out and labelled the reality TV format a “game show” in an interview.
He also added, “I sing my own songs. Having a show based off covers, they kept saying they need to see it through my eyes and if I was singing my own songs, you’d really see me connecting, that’s when you’d see my true artistry.”
His exit speech on the night had hinted at similar issues when he advised future contestants to “be true to yourselves”.
Judge Guy Sebastian was clearly not happy with Jimmy’s comments, and took to Twitter to respond to the comments.
“How incredibly disappointing. After all the time and love people invested in you. Having humility and gratitude is invaluable,” Guy began in his series of tweets.
“To undermine people who fought for him and only want to help is a huge slap in the face. Ironically, the week he chose the song and arrangement was the week he got the lowest votes. Happy to get the exposure, get flown around the world, mentored etc only to turn around and make completely false statements.”
Jimmy already had management before auditioning for the series and plans on continuing music whatever the future holds.
