Home and Away to Hollywood – Steve Peacocke Waves Goodbye to Summer Bay.

Devastation central for Daryl Braxton fans – actor Steve Peacocke is leaving Home and Away to try his luck in Hollywood!
He has already filmed his last scenes on the show but the good news is that we will still see him on our screen for most of 2015.
He told The Daily Telegraph, “It wasn’t something I was looking forward to because I love the show and the people I work with so much. But I think the key to any good TV series or any good storytelling is to leave the audience at the right point, and where we got to with Brax, we hit a point where it was the best point for him to exit the show. It was just the perfect time I guess.”
He bit a chunk out of Hollywood last year when he scored a small role in blockbuster Hercules. He is now looking to sink his teeth into some meatier roles.
“I guess a lot of the roles I go for are for the alpha male so to speak – the cop, the soldier – but what I am looking at right now is outside the square, which is good.”

Steve filmed his final scenes just before Christmas last year and has confirmed that his new wife Bridgette Sneddon has also left the show and they have both moved to Los Angeles to try their luck there.
His departure is the end of the original bunch of River Boys after Dean Ewing (Heath) and Lincoln Younes (Casey) both left the show last year.

The show is still full of eye candy however, with the other Braxton brother, Kyle, still an integral character on the show and Dr Nate (Kyle Pryor) never disappoints. New Zealander George Mason, who plays Ash is hanging around and the Barrett Boys have become popular characters on the show.
Some possibly good news – the option has been left open for Brax to return Summer Bay!
“I don’t want to give too much away but stranger things have happened in Home and Away. It’s a really awesome way they’ve pulled the story together but I think the door will always be open for Brax. It’s been written in a very clever way.

What are your thoughts? How do you think they have written the character of Brax out? What does this mean for Ricky and the baby?
