Thou Shalt Not Use A Hoverboard At Mass

The hover board craze doesn’t seem to be waning any time soon. It was the ‘it’ gift of Christmas but who would’ve thought we would be seeing them in church ridden by men in robes?

The Rev. Albert San Jose of the Diocese of San Pablo, south of Manila in the Philippines, ended a Christmas Eve Mass last week with what was meant to be a treat for worshippers, serenading them with a Christmas song while using the hoverboard to glide up and down the aisles. The audience was captivated and amused. There was much cheering and laughter!

While the congregation seemed to be loving this change of pace from the priest it seems the diocese was not amused.

Church officials there released a statement calling the stunt “wrong” and announcing that the priest had been suspended.

“The priest said that it was a wake up call for him; he acknowledged that his action was not right and promised that it will not happen again,” the statement said.
