Jonathan Crombie dies of brain hemorrhage aged 48.
“I don’t want diamond sunbursts, or marble halls. I just want you.”
Actor Jonathan Crombie, best known for his role as Gilbert Blythe on Anne of Green Gables, has passed away at the early age of 48 from a brain hemorrhage.
After his work on Anne of Green Gables, he went on to play the lead in The Drowsy Chaperone on Broadway.

His family plans to take his ashes back to Toronto by bus, as he didn’t like flying.
‘We felt that it was an ode to Jonathan. He would never go on a plane, so we’re going to make the trek from New York to Toronto on a bus with his ashes,’ his sister Carrie Crombie told CBC.
